Frequently Asked Questions
I'm a committee member and the supervisor of a lab. Why can't I perform a committee inspection on my own lab?
Committee inspections are intended to be completed by a committee member who is not also
I Got a link to an inspection in my email, but can't access it when I click the link
Likely your lab was misconfigured, and admins set your username to your friendly name or full-form abbreviated name, instead of your 4-8 character username.
What do the priority and "responsible person" buttons do when I click a non-meets-requirements option in an inspection?
These are leftover from an old removed feature. Feel free to use these fields to track internally the priority of an issue and indicate who's supposed to look into it.
Inputs here will show up on the "report" page, but do not affect business logic.
Why am I getting so many emails???
Sorry about that - safely's always been configured to send reminder emails on monday mornings. It used to be a lot worse when we sent one email per inspection on mondays.
Some faculties and departments have a lot of inspections, so its easier to let safely do the reminding than handle it internally.
Can I make someone else do these for me? (i.e a full-time lab employee / grad student)
Yup! As a supervisor you can use the "delegation" tab from within any inspection. From here you can configure 8-character usernames of people you would like to be able to complete inspections.
These people will get those monday emails, too.
